Human transportation has witnessed quite a few revolutionary changes. As far as I am concerned, one of the most important development in transportation has been the invention of international jet transport. Since this style of transportation appeared in the 1950s, it has caused widespread revolutionary effects and has actually changed the way people look at the world. A striking case in point is that a hundred years ago, it almost took weeks to cross the Atlantic or Pacific Oceans by ship. Today, those same trips can be completed in a matter of hours. One can attend a meeting in Paris and have dinner in New York the same day. Another essential example is that one hundred years ago, since an international journey was extremely expensive, only wealthy people could afford to travel comfortably, while poor people had to save for years in order to purchase a ticket. Besides, the traveling conditions then were almost unbearable. Today, however, every can afford it. Businessmen fly from city to city to tackle business transactions. Students fly home from abroad to visit their parents. And tourists fly from country to country to enjoy their sightseeing. Therefore, I strongly hold that the development of the jet travel is of great importance in the history of transportation.

amusing movie

This weekend I watched some amusing movies. I prefer movies that amuse that amuse and entertain. An amusing movie could relax my mood, free me from the stressful modern life and keep me in merry spirit. Especially, when I come to America, I always like to watch some of amusing movies in order to reduce the homesick feeling. And It can also lightly distract myself from the seriousness of everyday life. At the same time, amusing movies could make me laugh and multiply my sense of humor. Laughing is important for every individual. Laughing not only makes me feel comfortable and happy, but also enlarge my circle of friends. When people laugh together, they become friends.

My favorite sport

Today, I went to have sport with my friend. I was so excited, so I have burdening desire to talk about my favorite sport now.

Actually, swimming is one of my favorite sports. In water, both body and mind have to cooperate with each either to move forward or simply float. I am highly skilled swimmer. I have learned three ways of swimming. It is good way to ease the pressure of modern life.

In my spare time, I also like to play tennis. When I play tennis with my friends, I am in a very good mood, and I move a lot in the fresh air. I can't think of a better way to keep fit. This is especially true for physical hobbies. Well, playing tennis is also useful in character-training. It demands not only physical skill and strength but also teaches me the importance of cooperation and teamwork. My favorite tennis player is Federer, who is called "the God of tennis".

Adverse effects of motor vehicles

Today, I saw an online news on unusual climate, which refers to the deterioration of environment. Thinking I have just seen on the concept car's introduction, I would like to know if the car is really good for people then? I do not entirely agree with this point of view. First of all, as we know, traffic congestion has long been a problem of great concern and complaint in big cities, such as Shanghai, Beijing and so on. Secondly, traffic accidents have made streets become one of the most dangerous places. According to statistics, over the years because of traffic deaths in China each year is more than 10 million. Last but not least, no one can deny the fact that there are increasingly proportion of people choose to travel or go to work by car, which triggers huge consumption of fuel and severe air and noise contamination.

So in my opinion, we should use public transportation. When we use it, we can help reduce air and traffic jams. And government should take measures to explore environmentally friendly fuel, which is characteristic of high-tech content, high additional value and low energy consumption.

My family

I was born into a happy family that is why I developed an optimistic life attitude. My father is a senior engineer and my mother is a library technician. They attach great importance to my character-training and place great expectations on me. I was a good effect on their, both moral and intellectual. My parents and I enjoy good family relationship. They are my best friends. They help me out when I run into troubles. They help me make a reasonable judgement when I lose myself. They encourage me a lot when I meet with frustrations. I have a happy family.

My hometown

Changchun, my hometown, sits in the hinterlands of the Song Liao plain of Northeast China. It is the capital city of Jilin Province. It is one of the most prosperous soils in China. When you are walking on this modern and civilized city, you can feel the energy and prosperity of this city.

Except for the energetic land, Changchun is still the production base for traditional Chinese medicine, the largest comprehensive movie production base, but the most famous name is called the city on wheel. The First Automobile Works is the cradle of Chinese automobile industry.

It still enjoys great reputation for its place of interests. It owns the largest artificial forest of Jing Yue lake park and beautiful South Lake park. The 6th Winter Asian game was held in my city in 2006, which make our city even more popular. I am proud of being a citizen of this city.
